Fellowship of Christian Athletes is Active in Gaston County
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives…one heart at a time. Since 1954, FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel.Here in Gaston County we have 3 full-time staff who have the opportunity to serve 14 high schools and 10 middle schools. We currently have 31 huddles going on county-wide throughout the school year! A “huddle” is a time for a group of students/coaches to come together to read and discuss the word of God.The ministry of FCA serves coaches and athletes in so many different areas such as on campus, on the field, at camps, and through many different local events. This past summer we had the opportunity to feed over 2,800 students and coaches ant our events and saw 17 students come to know Christ as their savior!
