Whole30 for the Hankses

Contributed by Susan Hanks, Hanks Realty Group Stager

In preparation of the impending all-about-eating holidays and the extra sweets and calories that lie therein, our family decided to do our first round of Whole30.

We’re now on day three. Our student athlete, going out for the JV basketball team this week, decided to opt out this go around.

He said he did not want to disrupt his delicate system in light of the upcoming tryouts! This boy!

The littlest was gung-ho until about 3:45 on the first day and he caved. 😱 Sugar addiction with after school trigger at its finest!

But, I am concerned about the next several weeks as things ramp up and activities fill our schedules, that I might not be able to keep up with all the cooking!

However, Matthew, Anna, and I are firmly sticking to the plan!

Not a bite of noncompliant food has touched our lips!

We are enjoying all the whole 30 recipes I have found and accumulated over the years on Pinterest as well as the several Whole30cookbooks I now own.

Has anyone here done rounds of the Whole30 and have some easy hacks to maintain compliance??

I have a few simple, go-to meals in my arsenal,  like grabbing a rotisserie chicken and popping some fresh green beans and sweet potatoes in the microwave…

Or whipping up some compliant (no sugar added) spaghetti s

auce over riced cauliflower or spaghetti squash…

But that will get old quickly if on repeat!

I believe I’ve posted our favorite Zoppa Toscana Whole30 recipe in the past for you guys (truly delish and included again below!),

but here are a couple links to some other favorites we have found over this week!

Y’all please comment with compliant tips to get me out of the kitchen more these next few weeks!
