If you live in Gaston County, you live in the “Shangri-La” of the Carolinas. If Charlotte is the Queen City, then Gaston is the jewel in the crown. How’s that? Here we go.
The westernmost border of Gaston is a mountain. The easternmost border is a river. In between are plains and foothills filled with opportunity. Where else can you go in the Carolinas where you can climb a mountain using trails of various difficulties in a single morning? Caromont Health is the healthcare system of choice and it’s anchored right in the heart of this county. Secondarily, Atrium and Novant Health are nearby with convenient ancillary health care available from world class facilities.
Most important, there are communities of committed and eclectic people who coalesce to form the fabric of a society that is both rooted and challenging. Rooted in the blue collar textile towns and winged by companies that develop and execute world class technology with variegated talents across multiple levels of education, Gaston County is the preferred destination for those desiring to lean back to the past and kick forward into the future.
Gaston school choices are extensive. Public schools are recognized regularly in rankings of the North Carolina system including the ranking as the safest school system in the state across numerous years. There are even choices in the public schools around academies and the Gaston Early College High School where students graduate from high school with two years of college credit. It’s even possible to connect with other colleges and universities with such institutions of higher learning as N. C. State, Belmont-Abbey, and Gardner-Webb University right in your own backyard. Private schools like Gaston Day and Gaston Christian set the standard.
